LETTY COPPEL MEDICAL UNIT

Pueblo Bonito Group, through the Letty Coppel Foundation, and following up on their social commitment to those less fortunate, in October 2006 carried out a donation of a medical unit to DIF Mazatlán (Municipal System for Integrated Family Development) so they could carry out medical studies on women of scarce resources for the early detection of cervical-uterine cancer, breast cancer and osteoporosis.
Among the studies that take place are the following:

  • Pap smear test
  • Mammogram
  • Colposcopy (April 2007)
  • Ultrasounds (August 2007)
  • Bone screening (September 2008)

The Letty Coppel Medical Unit is located in different places of the municipality of Mazatlán where medical studies take place at very low costs and in some cases are free the unit is run by the DIF Municipal, who follows up with the patients that come back positive for cancer detection.
To this date, the Letty Coppel Medical Unit has obtained the following results:

These results are translated into the benefit of more tan 4000 people in the municipality of Mazatlán, in the last two years. With these types of activities Pueblo Bonito Group, through the Letty Coppel Foundation, will continue to contribute to the most vulnerable sectors of the society.

 

SUPPORT OF RED CROSS MAZATLÁN

The delegation of Mazatlán of the Red Cross was founded in 1942 initiated by Don Luis de Alba Luna, constituting itself in the first delegation of the Mexican Red Cross in Sinaloa.
Currently, the Mazatlan Delegation has more than two hundred volunteers and one of the few Red Cross Hospitals equipped with two operating rooms. During 2008 the Mazatlan Red Cross gave medical attention to 29,756 and 7,709 ambulance services.
As part of the support actions to community development, Pueblo Bonito Group through the Letty Coppel Foundation, participated in the annual collection of donations of the Red Cross 2009, in which a donation of $20,000 pesos was made.
